The designers of the Fort had some pretty good ideas.
Rifle slits in all the bedrooms and a roof that sloped to the
inside of the Fort. Possibly why this Fort never underwent a
direct attack.

The Gift Shop, buy something to
help support the Fort and the Park System. I think
a mouth harp was 3 bucks, just had to get one.

Ammo boxes in the powder house.
They built these in the very center of the Fort, away
from all the buildings. Makes you think they had
previous problems when they were placed next to the
officers quarters. Click to read information
in the powder house about
artillery loads and
grenades.

Wash day at the Fort. This is where the folks teach
your kids how laundry was done in the old days. Makes them so
appreciative of that weekly chore.
