Brrrr....and this is just the start of the winter season...I think this picture was shot in July

Occasionally we get dumped on by 10-12 inches of snow at a time, while this is not unusual in itself and is nothing compared to a Buffalo, NY winter, it does make for huge icicles hanging down from the eaves of the house.  A few years ago they got so big and long that I had to break them off from the outside before we could open the door from the inside.

Ok, this is just some deck stairs and a mailbox with some snow on it in our backyard.  Just thought the geometric patterns against the snow were kind of cool.  Don't ask why the mailbox is in the backyard, I put it up, my wife's idea.

A little cardinal out in the snow.  All the other birds fighting for birdseed above him in the feeder.  He just happily eats all the  stuff that they kicked out.

Snow in the woods after a new fallen snow.

Nebraska's version of icebergs on the Missouri.

Cold December morning overlooking central Omaha from Memorial Park.  I think it was about 8° this AM.  But we had hot chocolate in the thermos to keep us warm.

Sledding down the hills of Memorial Park.  Good to go early in the AM before the crowds make it a sled slicing  bonanza.

Good night Nebraska...
